In 2005, FDS was contracted by Business Link on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council to provide advice on improving business performance through training and staff development to businesses with less than 1000 employees.

All targets for this activity were surpassed. Over 800 companies were engaged, with over half benefiting from and in-depth training needs analysis, and over 80% going on to take up the recommended training.
